Socialite turned singer, Mona Faiz Montrage known by her stage name Mona 4 Real has released a new track to champion her comeback after a year in prison in the United States of America.
Dubbed “Move,” the new sound track is to diss her enemies for not ruining her despite getting her behind bars.
The song, whose snippet went viral over the weekend was to announce her return to Ghana and to narrate how she developed a tough skin throughout her trials.
The first scene of the music video began with a dramatic scene of the socialite in a prison cell, with a lyric “If I fall, I go rise,” a theme to signal her resiliency and new beginnings.
However, social media greeted her track with mixed reactions. As others were happy for her return, others also believed the lyrics were not meaningful since she was found guilty of a crime, she initiated without enemies pulling any strings.
Many condemned her and saw no talent in her career as a singer and even suggested finding something better to do with her beauty.
Hajia4Real as also known was extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States in May 2023.
She was reported to have been involved in a West Africa-based criminal enterprise that engaged in romance scams and internet fraud, defrauding vulnerable, older Americans of over $2 million.
Prosecutors revealed that she personally received funds from approximately forty victims, deposited into U.S.-based bank accounts under false pretenses, including elaborate schemes involving fake gold transport payments and fictitious FBI investigations.
Hajia4Real was found guilty and was sentenced to one year imprisonment on June 28, 2024, by U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken.
In addition to her prison term, she was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to forfeit $216,475 while paying restitution of $1,387,458.
