Medeama PAC’d out of MTN FA Cup, 4 Div One teams progress

Date:

Access Bank Division One side, PAC Academy, produced a stunning victory over one-time Ghana Premier League winners, Medeama SC, in the MTN FA Cup.

PAC Academy sealed their progression into the quarter-finals of the 2024-25 MTN FA Cup following a dramatic penalty shootout on the perch of the Tarkwa-based side.

Medeama failed to make good use of their possession and chances to see off their opponents in regular time of action at the TnA Stadium on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

In other matches, True Democracy continued their big march by eliminating Abedi Pele’s FC Nania 5-4 on penalties after playing to a 1-1 draw.

Ghanaian Premier League side, Bechem United, made their progression through the skin of their teeth in a pulsating match against Techiman Liberty Youth, 3-4 on penalties.

The other top flight sides to book their tickets to the quarter-finals are Karela United, who beat Young Apostles 1-0, and Berekum Chelsea, thrashing Northern City 4-1.

Though Asante Kotoko are yet to play their game, the stage seems set for Access Bank Division One side to clinch this season’s title, with Attram de Visser and Golden Kick beating Bibiani Gold Stars and Hearts of Oak, respectively.
