At the end of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations, CAF presented awards to the outstanding performers of the competition.
The Super Eagles’ captain, William Troost-Ekong, deservingly won the Man of the Competition award following his spectacular performances while leading his team to the final, as he finished the tournament with three goals.
Former Middlesborough star Emiliano Nsue won the Golden Boot as he bowed out of the competition as the top goal scorer with five goals.
Gelson Dala followed as the Silver Boot winner after scoring four goals for Angola. However, Mostafa Mohammed, who also scored four goals, won the Bronze Boot because he had fewer assists.
The ever-reliable captain and goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, of the Fair Play Team of the tournament, South Africa, won the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament award.
Emers Fae, who was appointed interim head coach of the Ivorians just before the round of 16 stage, has emerged as the coach of the tournament, just as his starlet, Simon Adingra, was named the Best Young Player of the tournament.
