MAX LIFESTYLE: 8 important hygiene tips for every woman

Date:

1. Observe makeup hygiene: Cultivate the habit of cleaning your beauty blenders, makeup sponges and brushes. Otherwise, these items can become breeding ground for bacteria. Clean them with warm soapy water and air dry. If you must apply makeup with your fingers, ensure they are properly cleaned.

2. Wipe correctly: Many women are guilty of not wiping correctly. You should use toilet paper from front to back after going to the toilet, and not from back to front. Otherwise, you will bring bacteria from your anus into your urinary tract and this can lead to infections in the gastrointestinal tract. If these infections become complicated, the bacteria can travel up to your kidneys.

3. Maintain good genital hygiene: Pay attention to your genital hygiene and give even more attention during menstruation. This will help manage the smell that accompanies menstruation and also ensure a balanced pH level. Remember, sanitary pads should be replaced every 4 to 6 hours and harsh soaps should never be used near your vaginal area.

4. Maintain good dental hygiene: Aside the fact that maintaining good oral hygiene can guarantee you a confident smile, it can also help safeguard your teeth and gums. Brush your teeth twice daily and remember to always wash the surface of your tongue while at it.

5. Wash hands regularly: Experts say most of the diseases we suffer are due to dirty hands; it is therefore vital to wash your hands regularly, and always carry with you a good moisture/alcohol-based sanitizer. Learn also to wash your hands before and after going to the bathroom, to prevent transfer of bacteria to and fro your private parts.

6. Choose breathable underwear: It is important your vagina stays dry and fresh, always. This means you should make breathable panties such as cotton underwear your go-to type since they easily absorb liquids. You can also try imbibing the habit of going to bed without panties.

7. Always carry personal hygiene items: Periods can be irregular sometimes, you know; and can also leave you unexpectedly soiled. So, it is common-sense to always carry with you personal hygiene items such as pads, wipes and even panties so you can change whenever you encounter any form of discomfort or wetness.

8. Change underwear regularly: Dirty underpants can cause health problems, such as urinary tract infection. Experts therefore recommend your underwear be changed every day and replaced every 6-12 months. This may sound costly but the truth is, replacing your underwear should be a mandatory hygiene habit for every woman.
