MAX GPL: Chelsea shock Kotoko by 3-0

Date:

Berekum Chelsea resume their League campaign at the Golden City Park as they thrashed defending champions Asante Kotoko on Friday, April 14 by 3-0.

The host pilled pressure upon pressure from the start of the game to unsettle the Porcupine Warriors as they dictated the tempo of the game with Kotoko’s former prodigy Stephen Amankona skillfully exhibiting his prowess on countless occasion in the goal area of the visitors.

The first 45-minutes stayed barren but five minutes after recess, experienced Kalu Ouattara broke the deadlock on the 50th minute with a free header after an excellent cross from speedster Collins Ameyaw’s to send the home fans into raptures.

Kalu Ouattara increased his personal tally to two by connecting an in swinger from a tactical play from the flanks.

Kotoko’s gaffer Abdul Gazale became unsettled at the turn of events during play so ordered his charges to keep possession of the ball than quick releases to slow the tempo of the game.

Coach Gazale’s tactical ability became fruitless till in the 85th Chelsea’s Patrick Kofi Ansu sealed the damage with the third goal after U-23 first choice goalie, Ibrahim Danlad failed to prevent a tap in goal from Ansu.
