Brighton and Hove Albion’s victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford earned Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey the of Player of the Match award.
The Seagulls’ surprising 3-1 victory over Man United put an end to their home invisibility thanks to the 22-year-old’s brace of assists.
Lamptey received his first start since March 2023, when he played only 17 minutes against West Ham United and missed the international break as a result of his recent injury comeback.
Eight minutes into the second half, the versatile defender assisted Gross in giving Brighton a 2-0 lead after former United striker Danny Welbeck had given them the lead earlier in the half.
Joao Pedro put the game beyond the reach of the Red Devils after Lamptey brilliantly squeezed the ball to him with 19 minutes remaining.
