Talented singer Darkovibes has dismissed rumors that his rift with the La Meme Geng music group is the reason he did not show up at the Tidal Rave concert held on Saturday, November 4.
According to him, he has no feud with the group in which he is a member and still has a tattoo of La Meme Geng on his hand.
In a recent interview, Darko Vibes explained that he was not in the country around the time the concert was held, so he rallied around his gang to set the stage ablaze.
“I would say that during the whole arrangement, I didn’t even know if I was going to be in Ghana or not. So when it happened, I was like, Let me just sit this one out and let my friends, a collective, as La Meme, run the show, as I couldn’t make it.”
“The other members of the team showed up and showed out. I was there watching everything. The boys really put in a lot of work, and they were looking forward to that experience, and they killed it. And I’m super proud. I’m sad I missed it, though,” he explained.
Darkovibes insisted that there was no beef between him and the group members, adding that they were all doing their own thing individually but came together to work as a group when necessary.
“Ghanaians want to put us in a group, but if you see how our brands work, Darkovibes is on a different mission, and RJZ is on a different mission. Kiddblack, Kwaku BS, $pacely, and Nxwrth are all on different missions. Usually we come together at a point as bar rangers to control the crowd.”
“But in doing all these things, we are also focused on our own brands and growing our own brands because we strongly believe that’s how people love us. They love us when they see all of us rocking our own individual spaces,” he added.
Darkovibes further stated that he still has a “La Meme” tattoo on his skin, and he would have erased it if there was a feud going on.
“Oh, no. Never. Please, no. I have La Meme tattooed on my skin. For me, if there’s a problem by this time, I go to the blackboard. I go cover by today. Trust me, there’s no problem,” he said in pidgin.
Born Paul Nii Amu Andrew Darko, he is known for his hit songs, including “Inna Song,” “Stay Woke,” and “Tomorrow.”
