MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Nothing about the gospel and salvation is free – Celestine Donkor

Date:

Gospel singer Celestine Donkor says salvation is no longer free and calls for a concerted effort to help musicians reach the masses with the gospel of music.

According to her, gone are the days when the gospel was given for free.

Her comments are in response to Reverend Abraham Lamptey, the founder and leader of the Believers House of Worship International, who recently asserted that gospel events should be free because God doesn’t have a price tag.

However, Celestine Donkor said in a social media post that gospel musicians spend lots of money before releasing music and need to be assisted for the smooth flow of their job.

”Gospel artists, we go through a lot to organize concerts, promote music, shoot videos…eeei… It’s very expensive! I know some artists who have to go hustle abroad to pay debts piled up from worship concerts,” she wrote.

The “Only You” hitmaker said the pastor’s claim opposed the gospel and said it should not be embraced.

”Man of God, I respect you, paa, but this one de3, it’s contrary to what the Bible teaches. Nothing about the gospel and salvation is free. One way or the other, there must be a sacrifice,” she said.

Celestine Donkor further indicated the need for Ghanaians to embrace the new era to support the gospel and the musicians when they organize gospel concerts.

”Please, I think this issue is a thing of the past, because our fans out there are doing very well with buying tickets to support their own..Let’s embrace this new Era. The gospel must reach the ends of the world. We can’t do it alone, we need financial support to do this,” she added.
