Hiplife artist, Nero X has charged musicians to put much effort into refining their stagecraft to attract foreign promoters, investors, and patrons.
According to him, Ghanaians fail to patronize foreign shows due to the one-way stagecraft of musicians.
Speaking exclusively with Max Morning Dew in Accra on Friday, Nero X observed that promoters fear investing in local musicians holding concerts in foreign lands due to their one-way stage performance.
“The public has a perception that when Ghanaians go on stage, they only throw their hands up in the air without bringing in extra exciting craft. They see it as one-way style so they will not attend, making the promoter run at a loss,” he said.
In moving forward, Nero X said much effort should be geared toward live bands to bring something unique, other than the music people listen to within the confines of their houses.
“This is why we need to also have our craft. The craft will attract the public to patronize the show, not the noise we make on stage. There should be a structure and craft like the Osibisa so we can make a big difference to our performance when we spend on our stagecraft to elevate it,” he added.
