Controversial gospel singer Samuel Opoku, known in the showbiz circles as Brother Sammy, has expressed zero interest in marrying if he is to start life as fresh.
According to him, marriage is stressful, and it is the reason Jesus Christ never involved himself with any woman when he came on earth.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, Brother Sammy stated that marriage was not that important for one to worry about.
”I wouldn’t have married if it was today that I am starting my life. That’s because marriage is stressful. I have now understood why Jesus Christ never married. If Jesus had married, he would have been defeated. I have now realized that Jesus Christ was wise that’s why he didn’t marry,” he stated.
Brother Sammy said his input was not to condemn marriage because it was coded in the scriptures that “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
”Today, where’s the good wife?” he queried.
The controversial singer maintained that only a few women were wifely material, and many make marriage unbearable and stressful; thus, he wouldn’t have married if he was starting life as fresh.
His take on marriage comes at a time when social media has been awash with disturbing accounts of broken unions, failed marital episodes, and infidelity in marriages.
Not long ago, Brother Sammy himself was in the thick of such narratives when rumors circulated about his alleged infidelity, leading to his divorce with his wife, Mrs Perpetual Opoku.
