Gospel chanteuse Mavis Asante says marriage is a ministry and every woman has to be vigilant and have patience to make it work.
According to her, marriage comes with its own challenges and opportunities, especially being married to a pastor.
Speaking in an interview with Max Morning Show during the unveiling of her new single “Victory” in Accra on Friday, the “Obaatan” hitmaker made it clear that being married to a pastor was a calling.
She said the calling was hectic and demanding to the extent that a wife had to be extremely patient in dealing with people.
Mavis noted that there were women who would purposely entangle themselves with the pastor just to tempt the wife to respond.
“That is why you have to be extremely patient; otherwise, your actions will scare the congregation away. You need to act like a cat to wink hard at certain things, but if you act like a dog and bark, by the time you realize, your actions have scared all the congregation away,” she advised.
Talking about her music, Mavis said she had returned for good as she went on hiatus just to give herself a break in the industry to marry and to raise her kids.
