Lars Björkegren picks first win as Black Queens boss

The Black Queens of Ghana handed an impressive 0-1 defeat to the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in an international friendly.

With the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, head coach of Ghana, Kim Lars Björkegren, is assessing his team through a series of international competitive friendlies.

The Queens followed their 1-0 defeat to the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco with the victory over Senegal while down to ten women.

Anastasia Achiaa was sent off in the 63rd minute after Evelyn Badu had scored the Queens’ winner just 24 minutes into the game.

Ghana will face Senegal once again as part of their nine-day training camp on April 8, 2025.
