New Technical Director and interim head coach for Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, is set to devise and pen down a footballing philosophy for the club.
Zito, on the back of a “successful” spell at his former side Dreams FC, joined Kotoko following the shock dismissal of Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum on Easter Monday.
Asante Kotoko, in their poor performances in recent matches, have been criticised mostly by their fans over their style of football, especially after the humiliating defeat to a young Accra Lions team at the Accra Sports Stadium two weeks ago.
As part of his responsibilities as the Technical Director, Zito would formulate a detailed football philosophy for subsequent coaches to go by, creating a playing identity for the club.
“I am now going to write the team’s philosophy and leave it down for them. I think we have to work on that. As for Kotoko, we don’t have one. Dreams have a philosophy,” said Zito in his unveiling at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday, April 23.
Zito highlighted his tenure at Dreams FC, where his philosophy of the club is carried on by now acting head coach Wilfred Dormon in his absence.
