Kamaldeen Sulemana: It was ‘an honor to represent Ghana’, from Techiman to World Cup

Date:

Attacker Kamaldeen Sulemana of the Black Stars is appreciative of the chance to represent Ghana at the World Cup. Following a humiliating loss to Uruguay in the final group match on December 2nd, Ghana was eliminated from the group stage.

Kamaldeen Sulemana congratulated his family in Techiman, as well as Ghanaians and supporters from other nations that cheered on their country throughout the group stage.

Giorgian de Arrasteca’s two goals in the first half eliminated Ghana’s chances of moving on to the round of 16. The referee granted Ghana a penalty, giving the Black Stars an early chance to take the lead, but captain Andre Ayew squandered the opportunity.

The Stade Rennais attacker took to his official Facebook page to post:

“NAWUNI KU DIHI TIVI

“From Techiman to World Cup.

“ALHAMDULILAH!!

“What an honor to represent Ghana at the mundial.

“Very grateful to the technical team for this opportunity and trust. Unfortunately, our journey ended with disappointment to ourselves, all Africans instead of inspiration and hope, especially to Ghanaians in these times. Heartfelt thanks to all Ghanaians and fans across Africa & the world who supported in person & from a distance with your hearts. Big thanks to everyone who’s been supporting and believing in this dream since the beginning. Special mention to Techiman. It’s always an honor to fly the Ghana flag,”
