JUST IN: Rex Omar Advocates Scholarship Quota for Creatives

Date:

In a move to enhance opportunities for Ghanaian creatives, Presidential Staffer for Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, has met with Alex Asafo Agyei, Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, to discuss the allocation of scholarship quotas for creative professionals and entrepreneurs.

The discussion centered on providing capacity-building opportunities for creatives, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to refine their craft and compete effectively in the global market. This initiative underscores the importance of supporting the creative industry as a key driver of socio-economic development in Ghana.

By granting scholarships to talented but financially constrained creatives, the Secretariat would play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of artists, musicians, writers, sound engineers, production specialists, and other creative professionals.

Mr. Asafo Agyei reaffirmed the Secretariat’s commitment to supporting deserving students, including those pursuing careers in the creative arts. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of expanding access to quality education and fostering human capital development.

As Ghana’s creative industry continues to evolve, this scholarship initiative is expected to empower creatives with the tools needed to thrive, ensuring they remain competitive on both local and international platforms.
