JUST IN: Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary Schedule Unveiled

The National Celebrations Planning Committee (NCPC) has announced the schedule for Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary.

Events will include historical commemorations, school competitions, and a ceremonial parade at the Presidency’s forecourt.

Key Events:

  • Friday, February 28, 2025: Wreath-laying ceremony at Nationalism Park (8 a.m.)
  • Sunday, March 2, 2025: Nationwide school quiz finals
  • Tuesday, March 4, 2025: Nationwide debate finals
  • Wednesday, March 5, 2025: President’s School Children Awards
  • Thursday, March 6, 2025: Independence Parade at the Presidency

To boost public engagement, the NCPC Communications Subcommittee will share educational content via TV, radio, and social media, including:

  • Historical insights on the 1948 Crossroad Shooting Incident
  • X-space conversation on civil protests in Ghana
  • Media stories promoting the anniversary theme

The NCPC urges Ghanaians and media houses to participate actively. Further updates will follow as the country prepares to honor its historical heroes and celebrate national pride.
