After days of the sad incident that almost marred the premiere of his movie “A Country called Ghana,” Kumawoood actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win has allegedly been arrested by the police over his fatal accident, which led to the death of a toddler.
The actor turned producer was picked up today by the police from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command.
He was believed to have been picked up shortly after he had been discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where he had reportedly been on admission since the accident that occurred at Amakom in Kumasi on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Lil Win, who was driving an unregistered Mercedez Benz on that faithful day, was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy, Nana Yaw.
Though he suffered some injuries when he and the father of the deceased, Lil Win, hit their car at Amokom, he was accused of negligence.
Following the demise of Nana Yaw, the family of the deceased called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident and ensure justice was served.
They also threatened legal action and have expressed their concern about the lack of attention given to the victims at the accident scene, while the focus was primarily on the actor.
Against this backdrop, Lil Win is currently in police custody, assisting in the investigation into the said accident.
