The Jamaican Master of Ceremony at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert, MC Nuffy, has explained why the self-acclaimed dancehall king in Ghana, Shatta Wale, was invited to perform in Jamaica.
According to him, Stonebwoy is well known in Jamaica, but the love for Shatta Wale in Jamaica is massive, hence, the decision to include Shatta Wale on the lists of international arts who performed at the concert.
MC Nuffy revealed this during a phone interview with Max Drive in Accra on Thursday.
“We know Stonebwoy. Big ups, Stonebwoy! Bad artist, tough artist Stonebwoy. We love and respect every artist but at the moment people in Jamaica are ready to see Shatta Wale,” he said.
That, MC Nuffy stated, did not mean the Jamaicans did not love and cherish Stonebwoy, stressing that Stonebwoy was deeply loved by the Jamaicans.
He indicated that Jamaicans were at the moment yearning to see Shatta Wale; thus, Vybz Kartel made that dream a reality by inviting Shatta Wale to perform at the Freedom Street Concert.
MC Nuffy was optimistic that Stonebwoy would be the next art to perform in Jamaica; however, Jamaicans were still hoping to see Shatta Wale again.
