Renowned socialite Rosemond Brown, known widely as Akuapem Poloo, has disclosed that she paid people to insult her in gaining fame.
This she said made her gain ambassadorial deals and other social gigs that boosted her livelihood and career in acting.
Akuapem Poloo revealed this in a recent media interview that has since gone viral on social media.
“At first when I started, I was paying for people to insult me for about a year. I’ve been in the game and no one calls me and I was not getting anything but after that people were calling me for interviews, skin care deals,” she said.
Akuapem Poloo indicated that she gained media attention, brand attention and many musicians including Highlife singer Fameye even paid her to twerk on his song.
”Stars would call me to dance or twerk on their songs and they would pay me. Even Fameye was giving me GH¢5,000 to twerk on his song,” she added.
On her early acting career, Poloo recalled earning as little as GH¢20 for some roles till her work with GBC’s Obra series paid better.
