The number one shot-stopper for the Black Stars of Ghana, Benjamin Asare, has revealed a sweet and loving side of himself hidden from the public eye.
Formerly of Accra Great Olympics, the Hearts of Oak captain, who has kept an impressive 15 clean sheets in 24 matches in the 2024—25 Ghana Premier League season, made a stunning revelation in a radio interview in the capital.
“I take care of my grandmother…I’m the one who baths for her…I do that before going to training…Even though I have siblings, I’m the only one who takes care of her,” the goalkeeper astonishingly said.
The professional tale of Benjamin Asare is nothing short of an inspiration. From nearly giving up the profession at the prime age of 28 to moving up as the favoured number one goalkeeper for Otto Addo’s Black Stars of Ghana.
Asare’s inspiring story continues in three weeks when Ghana participates in the 2025 Unity Cup in London.
