HEARTS OF OAK 0-0 LEGON CITIES: Phobians fail to win again

Date:

Hearts of Oak failed to win yet another game as they played goalless in a BetPawa Premier League match with Legon Cities.

The two teams played a lackluster first half as they were unable to produce meaningful chances to take the lead in a bid to earn all three points.

Eonde came close twice to giving Hearts of Oak the lead in the second half. First, in the 54th minute, and the next, ten minutes later.

The Phobians’ in-form striker, Hamza Issah, also had a good chance to give them the lead but dragged the ball too far wide.

However, Legon Cities had the best chance to grab the lead as Hearts of Oak’s defender, Michael Ampadu, cleared off Alidu’s strike on the goal line.

The result takes Hearts of Oak to 11th on the Ghana Premier League table, with Legon Cities FC in 12th.

Hearts of Oak will take on Accra Lions while Legon Cities FC faces Berekum Chelsea in match week 11.

In other results, in Abrankese, Nations FC beat Hearts of Lions 1-0, while Bechem United drew 1-1 with Bofoakwa Tano.

Nsoatreman FC defeated Real Tamale United 2-0 while at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, Great Olympics lost 2-0 to host, Dreams FC.

CAF Champions League contenders Medeama SC lost 1-0 at home to Berekum Chelsea.
