The Black Princesses of Ghana breezed past Eswatini at the Lobamba Somhlolo Stadium in the first leg of their round of the 2024 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup qualifier.
The Princesses came from a goal down to produce a huge 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Mercy Attobra restored parity in the 10th minute after the host took the lead five minutes earlier. Beline Nyarkoh gave Ghana the lead before halftime.
The Black Princesses extended their lead to two goals four minutes into the second half with Wasima Mohammed’s strike before Sarah Nyarko made it 4-1 for Ghana just before the hour mark.
Mercy Attobra bagged her brace in the 86th minute to end the game at 6-1 after the home team had scored an own goal minutes before.
The Black Princesses will welcome their opponents for the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
