Heart of Lions play as guests to Basake Holy Stars on matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.
With only four matches to end the current season, coach Bashir Hayford’s side seeks to achieve the unthinkable as they aim to win the Ghana Premier League.
They are currently occupying the second position on the league table, one point behind league leaders Nations FC, heading into matchday 31.
Lions have a lot to be motivated about as they seek to become the very first team from the Volta region to win the Ghana Premier League.
The top scorer of the club, Nana Kwame Oppong, will be seeking to add to his goal-scoring tally in his quest to win this season’s golden boot. He currently has eleven goals in the league.
In an interview with the head coach of the club, Mr Bashir Hayford, he emphasised that the club are really interested in winning the league this season but are not desperate in their approach.
He further said, We are approaching the remaining four matches like the way we played the other games in the league so far.
The players are motivated to go the extra mile to achieve something for themselves and the club. They know what our supporters want, and that in itself is something that is good for the culture of the club.
Heart of Lions survived relegation on the last day of the season last year, and looking at what they have done this season so far has been a remarkable achievement.
