Following, the legal action of Edward Amoah, known in the Showbiz circles as Kofi Mole against popular Entertainment critic regarding his alleged health and drug use, Bongo Ideas has officially apologized and dismissed his claims.
The statements were made by a content creator linked to Bongo Ideas and widely shared on social media platforms, especially TikTok.
In a formal “cease-and-desist letter” dated May 7, 2025, legal representatives for the musician demanded an immediate end to what they called a targeted smear campaign.
The letter, addressed to Bongo Ideas, accused him of extracting and distorting content from an interview conducted by Elliken Aldiam of KSS Media to promote Kofi Mole’s latest EP, “84 Do” Album.
Bongo Ideas was believed to have tweeted that ” Say no to drugs, Cut down on smoking or better still quit. You look older than your age. You be fine boy, don’t let drugs destroy,” and he tagged Kofi Mole.
According to the lawyer of Mole, the publication was offensive, malicious and defamatory and it has caused Kofi Mole significant emotional distress, a loss of business opportunities, and serious reputational damage both in Ghana and internationally.
Thus, demanded an immediate halt to any further publication or circulation of the defamatory content, a full retraction of the offending material on all the platforms where it was originally shared and a public apology, to be published weekly for eight consecutive weeks beginning within seven days of the notice.
In light of this, Bongo Ideas has apologized and said his tweet was not made out of malice but out of sincere concern.
He admitted in a statement issued by him on May 13, 2025 that he did not have evidence of the use or abuse of drugs, as well as drug-related health complications, hence apologized for his actions.
”I truly regret any misinterpretation that arose from my message. Consequently,I retract the tweet and any associated posts. Offer my heartfelt apology to Kofi Mole for any distress or damage to his reputation caused by my words,” Bongo Ideas said.
