GPL Wk 12: Asante Kotoko drop more points after drawing 1-1 with Tamale City FC

Date:

Following a 1-1 tie with Tamale City FC on January 11, 2022, Asante Kotoko are now winless in their last three games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

In today’s game, Asante Kotoko dominated play for the first 45 minutes but was unable to score.

It was all a result of a great performance by the home team’s defense, which remained steadfast in its efforts to defend the team’s goal.

Following the break, both teams gave it their all in an effort to win the game by scoring.

Even though it took some time, Tamale City FC’s Issah Nyaabila scored an own goal in the 83rd minute to break the scoreless tie.

The hosts will not yield, which is unfortunate for the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League.

To force a 1-1 draw, Tamale City FC pressed forward and equalized three minutes later in the 86th minute on Babamu Ibrahim’s goal.

Asante Kotoko had previously drawn both of their league games against Great Olympics and Aduana Stars prior to today’s encounter.
