GPL Week 27: Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea to go top

Date:

Accra Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to go top of the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts had only one task and they executed it perfectly.

It started brightly for them as Benjamin Afutu scored in the 9th minute to give Hearts the lead.

It was a free header and he had a simple job to slot it into an empty net.

They got the all important second goal in the 39th minute through Kojo Obeng Jnr.

He wrong footed goalkeeper Ernest Sowah to give Hearts a 2-0 lead.

The second half produced no goals and that means Hearts of Oak now lie top of the league table with 49 points.

The Phobians will play Great Olympics next in Week 28.
