David Ocloo, assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, has shared his views on calls for his club captain, Richmond Lamptey, to be called up for the upcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast.
Lamptey’s commanding performances in the midfield of the Porcupine Warriors in recent matches have earned him praise from Ghanaian football fans.
The assistant coach spoke after his side’s goalless draw with the Great Olympics at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday: “Lamptey is a fantastic player, and you can all see his contribution to the team. It will be an add-on to the Black Stars.”
The final decision of which players make up the final 23-man squad for the 2023 AFCON rests with the coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton.
