GPL Table WK 24: Kotoko have firm grip at the top as Hearts drop out of top 4

Date:

After matchday 24 of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League (GPL) , Asante Kotoko consolidated their lead at the top of the standings, while Hearts of Oak dropped out of the top four.

Hearts were knocked out of the top four by Kotoko, who defeated their opponents 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

While the win put them eight points ahead of second-placed Bechem United, Hearts of Oak dropped to sixth position on the log.

Despite the distance, Bechem is not giving up the pursuit, as they won a crucial game against Gold Stars by a razor-thin margin.

Three teams are tied for third and fourth place, with Aduana Stars, Great Olympics, and Medeama all having the same number of points.

Olympic fought back to defeat Aduana in Accra, while Medeama defeated Real Tamale United in Tarkwa.

WAFA and Elmina Sharks are fighting to keep their heads above water at the bottom of the league.

WAFA were defeated 6-0 by Ashanti Gold, while Sharks defeated King Faisal 1-0, however the victory was insufficient as the Cape Coast-based team remained at the bottom of the standings.

After a one-all draw with Dreams FC in Dewu, Eleven Wonders joined the two struggling clubs at the bottom of the table.
