President John Dramani Mahama has instructed all government appointees to declare their assets by the end of the first quarter of 2025 or face severe sanctions, including possible dismissal.
This directive highlights his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
On Tuesday, 18th February 2025, President Mahama submitted his asset declaration form to Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu at the Jubilee House, setting an example for all public officials.
He urged appointees to fulfill this legal requirement promptly, stressing that asset declaration is key to promoting transparency and combating corruption.
The President emphasized that failure to meet the deadline will result in serious consequences, including removal from office. His directive aligns with Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires public officials to declare their assets upon assuming office.
