GNFS Puts Out Mallam Atta Market Fire

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed the destruction of the Mallam Atta Market in Newtown due to fire.

The GNFS received a distress call at 22:46 GMT on the night of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and arrived at the scene at 23:29 GMT.

Several structures were destroyed by the fire. The GNFS, led by ADO I Ahoni, brought the fire under control by midnight, preventing a spread to nearby residential areas.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, as investigations have begun.
