Max Morning Live host, Frank Kwabena Owusu, popularly known as “Franky 5” has been enstooled as the “Guantuahene” by the chiefs and people of Abiriw in the Akuapem Traditional Area in the Eastern region.
The ceremony which coincided with the eighth Akwasidae took place on Sunday ahead of the Ohum festival of the people of Abiriw.
It was marked by colourful cultural displays, traditional drumming and dancing as well as animal slaughtering, a religious ritual to purify the new leader to his new office.
His confirmation to the office would be held on December 22, 2025 during the festival. His stool name is expected to be unveiled at the grand event.
Franky 5 was enstooled as the “Guatuahene” due to his dedication to social and cultural development in the traditional area and his duties would commence during his confirmation.
The ceremony attracted large crowds who gathered to witness the historic moment.
It also saw the presence of various celebrities including Piesie Esther, Empress Gifty, Portia Asare, and Kafui Dey, as well as dignitaries and Chiefs.
Cultural groups performed amid cheers from the community, symbolising unity and continuity of tradition.
