Her Excellency, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has visited the families of the helicopter crash victims.
The Vice-President, along with the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah; the Deputy Chiefs of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo and Alexander Segbefia; the Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs, Dr Valerie Sawyerr; and Presidential Staffers Nana Yaa Jantuah, Seth Emmanuel Terkper, and Rex Omar, consoled the families.
Following the state burial of the victims—Dr Omane Boamah, Dr Murtala Mohammed, Dr Muniru Mohammed, Dr Samuel Sarpong, Mr Samuel Aboagye, Flt. Sergeant Ernest Addo, Wing Commander Peter Anala, and Flt. Lt Twum Ampadu—she reaffirmed the government’s support in these trying times.
“As the President has pledged, the government will not abandon the families of our heroes. We will walk with you through this painful journey,” said the Deputy Minister in charge of Communications, Shamina Muslim.
The delegation will later visit the families of the military officers, who also perished in the August 6 helicopter crash at Brofoyedru in Adansi Akrofuom.
