A second-half strike by Yahaya Mohammed secured a massive win for Accra Lions over the defending champions, Medeama.
The outstanding game kicked off at the Accra Sports Stadium at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Medeama were in search of a win to claw their way back to the Ghana Premier League standings after a subpar performance during the 2023–24 CAF Champions League campaign.
The first forty-five minutes of the encounter ended goalless, as both sides had decent opportunities to take the lead.
However, the young Lions held their fort and stole the lead in the 72nd minute through the eventual man of the match, Yahaya Mohammed.
The win brings Accra Lions level on points with the champions at 33, though they are placed 8th on the table.
