Ghanaian coaches perform poorly— NCC Chairman

Date:

The inability of Ghanaian clubs to perform well at the continental level has left fans and stakeholders extremely worried about the quality of football being produced.

These worries are mostly pointed in the direction of football coaches, charged and tasked with steering football clubs to the successes they crave.

When things go wrong on the football pitch, the gaffers, globally, are the ones that mostly suffer the wrath of the supporters and management.

In a conversation with Nana Darkwa Gyasi, host of Max FM’s Sports Pack show on Tuesday, October 29, the newly elected chairman of the National Circles Council of Asante Kotoko, Solomon Ofosu-Ware, asserted Ghanaian coaches perform poorly.

“Ghanaian coaches perform poorly,” he said, to which Nana Darkwa Gyasi asked, “Does that include Karim Zito?” Mr Ofosu-Ware answered, “I repeat, Ghanaian coaches perform poorly.”

Mr Ofosu-Ware’s opinion may not be welcomed by certain elite Ghanaian coaches, but it is certainly a common feeling shared by most football fans, especially Asante Kotoko fans after the battering the club received at the hands of Wydad AC in Casablanca, Morocco.
