Black Stars captain Thomas Partey has taken a precautionary decision to opt out of Ghana’s crucial 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
According to reports, he has been suffering from an illness after Arsenal’s Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday, October 5.
Partey, 32, was expected to arrive in Ghana on Monday for the Black Stars’ double header against Sudan on Thursday, October 10 and 14.
He has been replaced by Elfsborg captain, Michael Baidoo, who scored the winner against AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League, and already has ten goals in the 2024-25 season.
