Ghana Set Unwanted Record Against Panama

Date:

Final scenes at the end of Ghana’s win against Panama were full of ecstasy and relief at the BMO Field in Ontario, Canada.

However, during the hard-fought win, the Black Stars of Ghana managed to successfully set an unwanted and unwelcoming record.

Carlos Queiroz’s men became the first nation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup to fail to register a single shot in the first half.

Ghana’s performance in the first half, despite securing a blank scoreline, left much to be desired.

The Ghanaians were tipped to dominate the game, but the Central Americans depicted otherwise, showing grit and determination to get at least one point.

Caleb Yirenkyi scored the second-latest goal in the tournament to hand Ghana a winning start to their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
