Ghana’s Parliament has passed the much-talked-about 24-hour Economy Authority bill for the improvement of the economy.
The implementation and formalisation are expected to be enforced following its passage.
The majority caucus leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, disclosed the main idea behind the formulation of the bill is to create jobs.
“The idea behind it is to create jobs and opportunities for our youthful population, many of whom have graduated from universities, and because the economy has been bad for the past eight years, jobs were not being created,” he said.
President John Mahama assenting to the bill would help curb the rapid exodus of strong Ghanaian youth from leaving the country for greener pastures.
