Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe, has welcomed Ghana’s preparatory games ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Having led the Black Stars to the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, Mr Pappoe is informed on how a team such as the Black Stars should prepare for the global football showpiece.
The GFA have expressed determination in ensuring the Black Stars succeed after crashing out in the group stages in Qatar 2022 and the 2025 AFCON qualification failure.
Sharing his opinion on the impact of the scheduled friendlies against Austria and Germany, Mr Pappoe believes the games would determine how the Black Stars ready themselves for England.
“Those are just interesting friendly games. If you look at the profile of the teams we are going to play, they are European teams, so definitely that would give us an idea or two of what we should expect when we play England.”
The Black Stars will be in Vienna to take on Austria on Friday, March 27, at 17:00 GMT before taking on Die Mannschaft three days later.
