John Ansah, the Chairman-elect of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has reaffirmed his commitment to uniting stakeholders in Ghana football. Ansah, who previously served as GHALCA Vice-Chairman, emerged victorious in the association’s elections held on Thursday, January 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ansah secured 96 out of 132 votes, defeating his opponent, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who garnered 35 votes. One ballot was declared invalid.
In his post-election remarks, Ansah emphasized the importance of collaboration within the football fraternity, vowing to consult widely and work inclusively to advance GHALCA’s objectives.
“I believe one of the key challenges is fostering unity among football stakeholders, and I am determined to address that,” he said. “On my campaign flyer, I emphasized my vision of being a productive leader, which means bringing everyone together. I will actively seek advice from my seniors and colleagues to help elevate GHALCA.”
Ansah also acknowledged the achievements of the outgoing administration and pledged to build on their successes while addressing areas that require improvement.
“The previous administration accomplished a great deal, but there’s room for improvement. We need to tackle the negatives and correct any mistakes. My team will adopt an open-door policy, welcoming all ideas and suggestions to collectively lift GHALCA to greater heights,” he concluded.
