The President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Neequaye has slammed managers of the Trust Sports Emporium for mishandling the facility.
Abraham Neequaye, who is set to compete for another four-year term as president of the GBA, highlighted the misuse of the facility meant for sporting purposes.
The Emporium houses sports facilities such as the Bukom Boxing Arena, Ga Mashie Hall (for indoor games), the Bukom International Pool, a fitness centre, and a physiotherapy centre.
According to the GBA president, the Bukom International Pool was rented out to global Nigerian artiste Burna Boy to shoot a music video.
Mr. Neequaye recounted the Olympic standard pool was drained to make space for Burna Boy and his crew for a tricycle show in a music video he featured Jamaican, Popcaan.
“The Emporium is a Corporate Social Responsibility project to cater to sporting needs but instead being used for non-sporting activities.
The Olympic-standard swimming pool at the Emporium was rented out to Burna Boy for a music video shoot. The damages made after the shoot have not been redressed,” he alleged on the Sports Pack show on Max FM.
His comments contradict those of Shirley Acquah Harrison, who insisted no damages occurred during the shoot.
He therefore urged the new management of SSNIT to ensure the Emporium fulfils its original purpose.
