The Black Stars have seen a decline in the latest FIFA World Rankings following disappointing performances during the September international break.
Ghana faced Angola and Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, experiencing a tough campaign that included a 1-0 loss to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium and a 1-1 draw with Niger in Berkane. As a result, Ghana now sits third in Group F of the qualifiers.
On the continental stage, Ghana has dropped from 12th to 14th place, overtaken by Burkina Faso and Cape Verde. In the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rankings, Morocco leads, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia in the top five.
In the global rankings, Ghana has fallen from 64th to 70th, being surpassed by several nations, including Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, Cape Verde, and Burkina Faso.
The Black Stars will look to bounce back in their upcoming AFCON qualifiers in October, where they will face Sudan in back-to-back matches.
