Defiant GES maintains SHS reopening dates

Date:

The Ghana Education Services (GES) has maintained its original reopening date for Senior High Schools (SHS) students despite the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) attempts to have it postponed.

This comes after Baro Primus, General Secretary of CHASS, called on GES to postpone reopening dates due to the schools’ inability to meet the needs of the students.

GES, however, through its Head of Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, announced that the students are expected to report back to school at the original date, i.e., January 3, 2025.

She further assured the GES will address the concerns of CHASS, while expecting them to adhere to instructions and make “necessary arrangements accordingly.”
