GPL HQ: Hearts near deal with ex-Ghana midfielder- Reports

Date:

Hearts of Oak are close to signing former Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso on a short-term deal to strengthen their squad for the season’s second half, according to  media reports.

The 34-year-old, known for his tenacious play and passing range, has been clubless since leaving Shenzhen FC in January 2024. He briefly rejoined Shenzhen in mid-2023 after a loan stint at KAS Eupen, where he played 10 matches.

With experience at clubs like Villarreal, Espanyol, and Celtic, Wakaso is expected to bring leadership and quality. A veteran of multiple AFCON tournaments and the 2014 World Cup, Wakaso has earned 70 caps and scored 13 goals for Ghana.
