Arsenal secure quarter-final berth despite draw

Date:

Arsenal completed a resounding 9-3 aggregate victory over PSV Eindhoven to set up a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Holders Real beat capital rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties, and Arsenal will likely have to find top gear against the Spanish giants in the last eight after cruising past their Dutch opponents.

Oleksander Zinchenko’s brilliant opener for Arsenal was cancelled out by Ivan Perisic in the 18th minute in the first half.

Declan Rice regained the lead for the Gunners eight minutes before the end of the first half. Any thoughts of another demolition were quashed by Driouech, who restored parity in the 70th minute.

Mikel Arteta’s side is now having a quarter-final date with defending champions, Real Madrid.
