Ghana Premier League (GPL) table-toppers Nations FC, through their Public Relations Officer, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, have downplayed the Disciplinary Committee’s charge against Emmanuel Annor.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association charged the Nations FC star for displaying a religious message on his undergarment after scoring against Asante Kotoko in matchweek 28 in the 2024—25 league season.
Mr Ansah, an experienced media practitioner and mouthpiece for the Abrankese-based team, though sympathising with the player, accepted the game is governed by its set of rules, and he [Annor] breached it.
The club, in a bid to maintain its current form and top spot, will support Annor, an instrumental piece in their title-hunting jigsaw, by paying the meagre GHS 500.00 fine imposed on him.
Nations FC, who are favourites to win the league, will take on bottom-placed Legon Cities next in matchweek 31 on Monday, May 19, 2025.
