Actress Omotola explains absence from screens

Date:

Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde says she went into hiatus to reshape her creative process.

According to her, after working non-stop for decades, she felt the need to take time off to relax, reflect, and recharge.

She shared this in an Instagram post to explain why she had been absent from the Nollywood movie industry.

The actress, who began her career at the age of 15, shared that her breaks from the industry were necessary for her well-being and creative process.

She explained that these breaks were vital for maintaining her energy, passion, and commitment to her craft.

“I know many never understand why I take time off movies for a few years and then come back and do it again! I see fans asking when I’ll be back on screens, but when you’ve been working since you were 15 like I have, you’ll do good to relax, relive, relearn, and recharge. Who understands and who’s following?” she wrote.

Omotola’s decisions emphasized the need for self-care and the mental well-being of any actress to reflect and regain energy between projects to further return with sterling stage performances.
