The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has responded to reports that he refused to appear before the parliament of Ghana for questioning.
The honourable minister in question revealed in a reply to the letter from parliament dated 9th June, 2025, that he was out of the country at the time of the letter’s arrival.
Hon. Ablakwa further iterated his immense respect for the leadership and members of the August House and thus would never deliberately disregard or ignore its directives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, therefore, has requested a rescheduled date to honour the invitation from the House.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes to Parliament on this week’s controversy about my unavailability to respond to Parliamentary questions.
For the record: I had no knowledge of the parliamentary invitation; I will always avail myself for parliamentary questions as I have done… pic.twitter.com/3WDjENLfpq
