Renowned Afrofusion artist Gyakie has dismissed claims that there is a rift among female musicians in the country.
According to her, the confusion stems from the internet and is not reality.
Gyakie denied the claims while speaking on the Max Morning Show in Accra last Friday.
She said she is cool with all the female artists and disclosed that she is a close friend of Efya, Sefa and Becca, and also has a cool vibe with Sista Afia and Wendy Shay.
“I am very, very close to Sefa, I am very close to Becca. These are not like internet friendships. I visit them at home, eat from the same bowl, but it is not something that I put on the internet. I am not the type of person who does that all the time, but I would say I am very close to Efya, Sefa, Becca. Sista Afia, when I see her outside, it is always an interesting vibe,” she said.
The songbird maintained that in real life, female musicians warm up to each other, but believes that the lack of collaborations among female artists has contributed to the rift opinion being shared online.
“In real life we are good. It’s internet people who try to make it look like a certain type of way. Perhaps it is because the females don’t have much collaboration. But for me, I am really cool with lots of girls,” she added.
