Isaac Nii Armah, head coach of newly promoted club, Debibi United, is charismatic and confident in his abilities.

The former Berekum Arsenal gaffer apologised if his comments after the opening-day fixture against Kotoko have rubbed people the wrong way.

Following a tough start into the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, Coach Armah confidently stated he wouldn’t lose to any white coach.

These are words, according to Coach Armah, which are his personal views and ambitions and were never meant to offend anyone.

Speaking on people’s reactions to his comments, he said to Nana Darkwa Gyasi on Max FM’s Sports Pack show:

“If I had been beaten by a white coach, it is the same Ghanaian journalists that would say local coaches are not good enough.”

Kotoko, led by their South African white coach, Eric Tinkler, had to scrape to a 2-2 draw with Debibi in the Tain district in the Bono Region on Sunday.
