Inter Miami were held at home by a stubborn Atlanta United side that refused to accept defeat on the night in their Major League Soccer round of (24) clash. The two teams settled for a 2-2 stalemate at the end of this epic showdown.
Casemiro opened the scoring on the night for the home team only to be pegged back by Miguel Almiron’s equalizer. Striker Luis Suarez restored Miami’s lead heading into the halftime break as they lead by 2-1 scoreline.
Back from the recess, both teams stepped up their game in search for goals. Inter Miami probed but couldn’t just found that crucial goal to kill off the game.
Inter Miami switched formations from their initial 4-3-3 to a more aggressive 4-2-4 just to overload their opponents in attack and get that decisive goal but it was Atlanta United who found the equalizer through Swiss international striker Breel Embolo who converted from the spot at the depth to tie the game at fulltime. Inter Miami’s patchy form in the league continues.
In other games Toronto FC and Chicago Fire shared the spoils in an eight goals thriller at the BMO field. Robert Lewandowski was among the goal scorers on the night as he scored yet again to take his Major League Soccer tally to five goals.
French striker Antoine Griezman scored the match winner as Orlando City beat San Diego by 1-0 scoreline. Columbus Crew 3-0 Colorado Rapids, Philadelphia Union beat CF Montreal by 2-0 scoreline at home, Austin FC 1-1 San Jose Earthquakes, FC Dallas put Sporting Kansas City to the sword by 5-3 scoreline in a ruthless performance, German international Marco Reus scored the opener as LA Galaxy beat New England Revolutions by 2-1 scoreline at home.
